Viola Party!! August 31
The newly-formed Indiana Viola Society would like to invite you to our inaugural activity, a pot luck barbeque and informal ensemble reading session to take place on Sunday, August 31st starting at 1 PM. This will offer a great opportunity for you to start to become involved with IVS activities. There will be application materials available so you can join the organization, which will enable you to participate in future activities such as lectures, recitals, and master classes. High School Orchestra Festival: September 6
Ball State University is sponsoring the second annual Indiana High School Orchestra Festival, a program for high school orchestra players. This event will be held at Ball State University on September 6, 2008. Click here for details, application forms, and music.

ISO College Prep Series for Strings: September 20
The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce the Third Annual Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra/ Meridian Music College Prep Series for Strings on Saturday, September 20, 2008. This event is set up as a mock audition for high school students preparing for college auditions. For details about the program click here.

Indiana Solo Competition
The Indiana chapter of the American String Teachers Association is sponsoring a State Solo Competition for violin, viola, cello, double bass, harp and classical guitar. The INASTA Competition will serve as the preliminary round for the ASTA National Solo Competition, which will be held at the ASTA convention in Atlanta in March 2009. Click here for more information.
